URGENT — Residency for Artworks

Performance in public and private space with three sculptures from Eva Spierenburg, Niina Tervo, and Sijben Rosa

URGENT is a platform to ponder upon material agency and the role of the artwork as a performer through performance and shared experience.

Within the residency, I invite an already existing artwork by another artist to live with me: I carry it around and engage in interactions and conversations through its existence. In doing so, I observe how material performs. I aim to give the artwork a central role, allowing it to mediate encounters with passersby in public space as well as within private settings.


The performance stems from the necessity to reconsider our relationship with objects in times of overproduction and exhausting consumption.
